2013 BYU Football Schedule Finally Official
The long speculated 2013 BYU football schedule has finally been released. Tom Holmoe went live on True Blue to announce the 2013 schedule n what has become a BYU football tradition.
Not really any surprises with the schedule, as most of the games and dates were already known. After the Hawaii series was cancelled, due to the Mountain West Conference championship game being scheduled the first week of December. Nevada replaced Hawaii as the season ending game, a well deserved nod to Kyle Van Noy who will end his BYU career in his hometown.
Highlights of the schedule include road games to, Virginia, Wisconsin and Notre Dame. BYU will play possibly the best home schedule in program history with Texas, Boise State, Utah and others coming to Provo in 2013. The 2013 slate also features some well placed bye weeks, great job by Tom Holmoe. The entire schedule is below.
The Cougar Center team will share initial thoughts on the 2013 BYU schedule on the next podcast, EPISODE 100!!!

Jimmer goes to Kings at Pick #10
The wait is over. Jimmer Fredette is now a Sacramento King.
Jimmer worked out with the Kings, and ever since the workout the Maloof brothers (Kings Owners) have been enamored with Fredette. The Kings traded back to the #10 spot earlier in the day and added John Salmons from the Milwaukee Bucks in the process.
This is a great fit for Jimmer. The Kings traded away their starting Point Guard from last season in Beno Udrih as part of today’s trade. The PG spot is there for the taking right away for Jimmer. A backcourt of Jimmer and Tyreke Evans could be really explosive. This will be a franchise that will allow Jimmer to handle the rock a lot, which is Jimmer’s comfort zone.
Congrats to Jimmer, the Fredette family, and the Kings. We will discuss this more on the Cougar Center Podcast tonight.

Fundraising Event for the Kjar’s
Recently some friends of ours suffered an immense tragedy and the community is rallying to assist them in their time of need. Please read the following excerpt from the Facebook event page.
On Saturday night, after playing a game in Twin Falls, Idaho… Jordan Kjar, Quarterback of the Utah Shock in the Rocky Mountain Football League was on his way home and had his pregnant wife with twin boys, call to let him know that her water broke and had an ambulance come to take her to the hospital. She was only 21 weeks along.
Jordan got to the hospital and his twin boys, Brody and Bensyn were born Sunday afternoon both weighing close to 1.5 pounds each. They lived for only about an hour, passing away in their fathers arms.
They were the first born children of Jordan and Mallory, and we want to do whatever we can to ease the burden and stress of the funeral costs and hospital bills by hosting a Hawaiian plate lunch fundraiser for them.
Even though we are all opponents on the football field, life and family are far more important and we want to rally as a league and friends to show our support.
PLATE LUNCHES WILL BE $10 EACH.
Comes with Teryaki Chicken, Kalua Pork, and/or Teryaki Burgers
Hawaiian Macaroni Salad
Potato Salad
White or brown rice
Dessert. The event goes from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm at Winchester Park (1200 West Winchester St. 6400 South) Map is included below.
- Those who cannot attend but wish to contribute, donations can be made through PayPal at – kytokhouang@hotmail.com
